Silver Wind
 |
|
|
Often compared to
sailing on a private yacht, the Silver Wind’s onboard atmosphere
is elegant yet unregimented. Warmly decorated spaces provide
ample room for the small number of guests welcomed aboard each
sailing, and complimentary wines, spirits and champagnes are
served throughout the ship. There’s dancing and live music in
both The Bar and The Panorama Lounge, and grand shows and
concerts offered in The Show Lounge. During the day, take
advantage of the Silver Wind’s amazing spa with spectacular
ocean views or simply bask in the sun by the pool. The
Observation Lounge is a great place to meet up with old friends
and enjoy the company of new ones, or check out a novel from the
ship’s library. There’s open seating in the elegant restaurant;
menus are inspired by the line’s partnership with Relais &
Chateaux. For a more casual dining experience, head to the
indoor/outdoor cafe La Terrazza, where breakfast and lunch offer
buffets and grilled fare, and evening menus showcase regional
Italian specialties. Or, if you prefer, have dinner served
course by course in the privacy of your suite. The Silver Wind
is an all-suite ship, with all accommodations boasting ocean
views and 80% of those with private teak verandas.
Well-appointed and luxurious, staterooms feature fine bed
linens, European bath amenities, a beverage cabinet stocked with
your selections, fresh fruit and flower arrangements and marble
bathroom with full-sized bath. |

| PUBLIC AREAS |
|
Silversea Silver Wind
passengers know that they are on a different type of ship
from the moment they approach the ship. There are no lines
for check in, and passengers are warmly greeted with a flute
of champagne and a smiling Silver Wind representative who
leads you to your suite. The reception area is not a soaring
atrium that challenges the senses or makes you wonder in
amazement. The colors are muted and the atmosphere is
peaceful. Embarking guests immediately feel that the main
objective of the small Silversea Silver Wind ship and her
crew is to provide a relaxed, calming cruise vacation in a
modern, simple, ultra-luxury atmosphere. Let's take a tour
of the public areas on Silversea Silver Wind.
Onboard guests

Bar and The Panorama Lounge offer dancing to a range of live
musical styles for every taste, from ballroom and dinner
dancing to rock and roll favourites and club mixes. Movies

DINING
Small ships like the Silversea Silver
Wind do not have as many different dining venues as the
large mega-ships, but they do offer outstanding variety
and cuisine. In addition, the dining areas are smaller and
more intimate, and the service is superb.
During her refurbishment in late
2008, all of the carpeting or flooring, upholstery, wall
coverings, and drapes were redone in the dining rooms.
Past Silver Wind guests won't notice a major difference,
but they will definitely enjoy the soothing, elegant decor
of the dining venues.
The Silver Wind has two main dining
rooms - The Restaurant and La Terrazza. In addition,
guests looking for a special experience can dine in Le
Champagne, while those just wanting a casual meal can eat
outside at the Pool Grill or have room service. The room
service menu is extensive, served 24 hours, and passengers
can order from The Restaurant menu during regular dining
hours or even have high tea and all the accompanying
goodies in their cabins.
|
|

salads, and main courses. Items on the menu that are low
carb, low calorie, or vegetarian are clearly marked. The
menu includes at least one item from the cuisine of luxury
hotel and restaurant group Relais & Chataux. The Silver Wind
also links back to its Italian roots with a "heritage pasta
dish" that is available as an entree or an appetizer.
|
|

La Terrazza |
La Terrazza
The translucent awning over the aft deck of La Terrazza
was added during the 2008 refurbishment. It made dining
outside even better.
La Terrazza offers an innovative à la carte menu designed
exclusively for Silversea to showcase the finest elements of
Italian cooking, melding together fresh and flavorful
ingredients from classic Italian and rustic Tuscan culinary
traditions. Highlighting the menu are such tempting
delicacies as arugula and parmigiano salad; risotto with
asparagus and shrimp; grilled swordfish with Pantelleria
caper pesto sauce; and grilled beef tenderloin with aromatic
herb butter and sautéed baby spinach. There is no additional
charge to dine in the restaurant, but reservations are
recommended as seating is limited in order to maintain an
intimate atmosphere.
