Return to Spitsbergen Voyages
Explorer Cruise (9 day cruise) -MS Fram

Polar Bears
Approximately 4,500 polar bears inhabit  Spitsbergen. Polar bears can be seen in the east, north, and south, and polar bear spotting is also common along the western fjords and coastlines. Visits of the polar bears to settlements around Spitsbergen are familiar sights.

Eight days of exploring the entire west coast of Spitsbergen, including Bjørnøya/Bear Island! This is a totally new and exciting cruise, taking you all the way from the far south, up to the 80th parallel. In the course of an intense week, you will experience Svalbard’s spectacular nature with beautiful fjords surrounded by jagged peaks and huge glaciers. During the cruise you will also experience the wildlife and the fierce environment of the Arctic. The birdlife is remarkable, and even the most blasé ornithologists will be completely astonished. Most likely you will spot seals, whales, walruses and the ‘king’ himself; the polar bear, in their natural
habitat.
