Antarctica Cruise Letters
MS Nordnorge and MS Fram: 13 and 19-day Antarctica Cruise Tour

Many Many thanks for the wonderful trip.
The Hospitality was Phenomenal
. The Expedition Leaders, ARNE, PETER ,ULRICH FRANZ & the entire team put in phenomenal effort to make sure that we did not miss a thing. I have yet to come across such a highly educated & dedicated team anywhere else. ARNE was a big hit with the kids teaching them the finer nuances in his own humorous style. I remember telling Peter after the Lectures that if we had such teachers in college we would have studied a lot more. What can we say about Capt. Hansen. He taught the biggest lesson of our lives when no effort was spared in rescuing the passengers of Explorer & taking amazing care of them onboard. Very Inspiring.
Head Waiter DEO ,Cathy & so many of the restaurant staff spared no efforts in making us the vegetarian food we wanted. True dedication. It was really difficult job. All smiled their way through while catering to the most difficult demands all around. Landings were so well organised with clockwork precision & the beauty of the GREAT ANTARCTIC CONTINENT left us spellbound We had tears in our eyes when we left. It was like losing something invaluable. This has been our GREATEST JOURNEY & the most fulfilling. IT IS A TRIP OF A LIFETIME. Kids dream about it most of the time & someday I am sure we all will be aboard NORDNORGE again It has become a part of my FAMILY. words can never do justice to our experiences.
I thank the circle of life that it got me across to you , Humans of character & strength . You all have the power to make fairy tales come true.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL WITH HAPPINESS ALWAYS. From Your Family Here In INDIA Sukhmandir S. Lamba & Family (2007)

It was indeed a great experience. Totally ''unforgettable & indescribable''

Dilip Kamtikar, India (Antarctica 2008)

We just returned from our trip on the Nordnorge to Antarctica. It was absolutely fantastic! The weather was great, the lectures were good, our cabin was very comfortable and the scenery was more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. Thank you for your help in making our arrangements. - William and Emily Lacina, California

A huge thank-you for the cabin upgrades on our Nov 4 Antarctica Cruise. We were all delighted with the whole trip. What a superb tour operator! - Sincerely, Janet Koennecke, Cazenovia, New York
P.S. And thanks, the port side was best.

Had a fantastic holiday. The ship was wonderful and our cabin excellent. The scenery in Antarctica was just 'Wow'! We have enough memories to last a lifetime. Thanks. - Jennifer Johnson, Keynes, U.K.

I just returned from the December 21, 2005 cruise of the ms. Nordkapp. I must tell you that the entire experience was splendid in all aspects! The ship, the personnel, the Antarctic landing boats, the lectures were
all beyond praise. The transfers in Santiago, Puerto Montt and Buenos Aires were very capably done. Thank you very much. - Sincerely, William Rosen, San Diego, California

The time on board the ship was fabulous, the crew were great, the food was out of this world and the Antarctic was indescribable. - Alastair Inglis, Australia

Thanks! Everything has been OK and good.
- Seth Granberg, Stockholm, Sweden

The people were good and highly inter active and many friendships were developed. The exposures, experiences and the sceneries were superb. Outside trips were well organized. Some of the lectures on board were professional. Nordnodge was very well equipped too, headed by a friendly captain. - M. K. Chandrasekhar, Bangalore, India

I am glad to receive your email, Antarctica and Cilean Fjord cruise tour those were the most wonderful time in our lifetime experience. We deeply appreciated your assistance. Thanks. - Best regards, Lisa, Taiwan

The organization of this trip, the handling of baggage and excursions, the ship itself with its beautiful facilities, the Captain, Crew and Scientists, the kinship with fellow passengers and the overall atmosphere during these 19 days made this journey truly enjoyable and a memory for life. And I haven't even begun to talk about the fjords, glaciers and ANTARCTICA, the most beautiful place on earth. - Kind regards, Edda and Mahendra Thacker, Toronto, Canada

Just a word to say hello and to report that we were very satisfied with our cruise on the Nordnorge. Everything went fine and we managed to be part of the French speaking group on the boat. Weather conditions were good enough with 2 sunny days out of 4 while we were in Antarctica. The complete landing program took place at Cape Horn and at 8 points in Antarctica. Thanks again for your effort to provide us a good cabin. - Best regards. J.C. GUENAULT, France

Just a note to thank you for arranging our wonderful holiday - hotels and flights arrangements were super (as was our own flight arrangements!). We loved Buenos Aires and Santiago and we were so lucky with the weather in Antarctica, especially through Drakes Passage on both occasions. Scenery superb, brilliant sunny day and calm waters sailing through to Paradise Bay, wonderful staff and food - the only downside as far as I was concerned was the size of the cabin - OK for a couple of nights but got a bit claustrophobic after that - a really tight squeeze - other that could not fault the ship. We have some super pictures to remind us of the fantastic journey we had. Once again, many thanks for all your help! - Valerie & Rowley Davis, UK

I booked the Antarctic cruise with CruiseNorway. I sailed December 23rd. I just wanted to let you know I enjoyed the voyage and was assigned a very nice cabin. If I decide to go to Spitzbergen, I will give you a call.
Thanks for your help. - Regards, Walter Rieth, USA

We had a wonderful holiday - the weather was great with sunshine and calm seas more often than we expected, the ship was very comfortable and with only about 130 passengers there was plenty of space, always somewhere to sit and we never had to wait very long to get ashore. All the travel arrangements worked very smoothly. The organisation of the trips ashore and the information from the speakers was all very good too. We also enjoyed our few days in New York although the very cold weather and the transport strike did affect us a bit. - Thank you and kind regards, Rob Williams, UK

We had a fantastic time thank you. Weather brilliant. The organisation was superb. Best we've ever experienced. The leader and crew were excellent. Antarctica is awesome. The Chilean fjords are magnificent. Some of the trips were lacking in interest and seem to be padded out. Most of the lecturers on board were very good but one or two were poor. Several people were up-graded automatically but we appreciated what was done for us. A very special trip. - Best regards to you Joan and Keith, U.K.

Thanks for your interest. It was a fabulous trip, the boat crew and the cruise team were all first class. We were blessed by wonderful weather to see a surreal world. If you have any clients who are debating whether to start from Puerto Montt or Ushuaia, my vote is do the fjords first. The latter are really beautiful but an anti-climax after the surrealism of the Antarctic Peninsula! Cheers and thanks - Alan

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the cruise tremendously. Everything went well and the landings were well organized. - Regards Cleone and Michael, the Netherlands

Sharat, Rupa & Akash onboard Ms Fram

Had a wonderful time in Antarctica and was a great experience. The cruise company was professional to the core in organizing with military precision. I had great time taking pictures and comparing them with the other folks. Will share with you the album if you visit us in Indonesia.

Thanks for all the assistance in planning this tour; you were very helpful and we had a wonderful time. We would like to go there once again.

Swimming in Antarctic waters!

We had a great trip which is kind of a certainty if you sail with Cruise Norway. We joined the group at Santiago on the 2nd.of Feb 2008.

There was a total of 5 landings. I don't think I can write and convey even the essence of it all, it's a lifetime experience, even the photos won't be able to do justice. Everything was perfect. We took permission and was allowed to cook our own food a couple of times. We were the only 2 Indians and I was being called the new chef on the ship since they got to know that we were cooking our food, some of the people even came by our table to taste the Indian food.
Please find attached a few of the photos of our trip.

Thanx for your help, please send me the Arctic cruise details, may be someday I'll try to make it to the Arctic also.

We had a marvelous trip. Good food, good people, good service. Thank You for making it possible. - Len and Madeline, USA

Just a quick note to let you know we are back from Antarctica and to tell you what we thought of our "expedition." We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and will highly recommend Cruise Norway and Norwegian Coastal Voyages. Our trip was even more than we had hoped it would be. The ship, and all the crew and staff were top notch, the food was very impressive, and the scenery along the way was too spectacular for words. This was definitely the trip of a lifetime. We have been telling so many people about this trip that I am sure you will have several people contacting you for more information. I'm sending you a few pictures for your files. Some are probably typical of what you've seen a dozen times before from other clients, but maybe some of the others will surprise you. We were pretty impressed with everything we saw, and plan to go back one day - maybe we'll do the reverse trip that
includes South Georgia. Thanks for all your help! - Wendy, Dallas, Texas

We had an amazing time on the cruise. Thank you for your assistance in booking the cruise. I've recommended you to a number of people, and I believe one of them has already booked a cruise with you for 2007. - regards Philip Bell, UK

Thank you so much for the assistance you gave with arranging for us to join the Antarctic/Chile cruise. It was certainly a most wonderful experience and will be a holiday which will be difficult to surpass. Everything about it was good! The company, Norwegian Coastal Cruises were great with a crew who did all to make us welcome and pampered. We were lucky because it was such a small passenger list so we were able to go where bigger ships cannot. Even the weather was kind and we had good crossings of Drake Passage and even days of brilliant sunshine. All I have to do now is edit the hundreds of photos to keep the best. Hurray for digital! No adverse comments at all. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks again. - Heather, UK

Your arrangements were just excellent and I very much appreciated your attention to detail. The trip was spectacular and we liked the ship. I have recommended your agency to friends and I hope you hear from them.
- Gordon Jenkins, Switzerland

Thanks for your email. It was a great trip. If I had any criticism at all, it was that we were not aware that there would be so little free time in the ports that we stopped at. The time of the ship arrival and departure at each port in Chile was not made known to us until the night before landing. This meant that where we had signed you for a shore excursion, we did not have any time left over to explore the towns in the immediate vicinity of the ship. We also had some stops where the ship left port in early afternoon. It would seem to me that they could have extended the stay in the port until evening to give us more time ashore, without compromising the travel time to the next port. Overall, I would highly recommend this cruise. The expedition staff were all expert and gave good lectures. The scenery in Antarctica was more than I expected and the hotels in Santiago and Buenos Aires were excellent. - Maurice Stevens, Canada

Thanks for your message. We had a wonderful time and it was a great cruise. We experienced mixed weather, but no major problems. Staff and scientists were very helpful. Food very good. A little too much fish on the menu to my liking, but was able to navigate around the fish specialties. Please advise clients to bring at least one trekking stick to assist in climbing over snow and ice. We had slush/ice and walks uphill. Trekking stick would make the walking easier. If people have crampons, this would also be good. Rooms were clean, but could change linens more often. Dinner meals were single option and only one option that you could request. A little too restrictive. 24 hour snack cafeteria was great, but emphasis was based on sweets (cakes) only. Maybe they could have non-sweets such as pizza, or chips or something that is not sweet on the snack cafeteria. Most cruise lines offer iced tea as a beverage. Wines were excellent. Port Arrival times were only announced when on board. Very difficult to make arrangements for alternate tours except for the ones that the cruise line was featuring. We took taxis and this worked out. Most cruise schedules will give an approximate port arrival time and date. A well run operation for Zodiac handling. We recommend this cruise. - Regards, Erika and Walter Kraft, USA

The cruise and the crew were absolutely outstanding. You can use me for a recommendation any time. It was really great sailing with the Norwegian crew. They are attentive, friendly, and at all levels of rank, well spoken and communicative. I specially liked the fact that the crew was accessible to questions, and were in view of the public in the evenings and during events. This was a really nice improvement on the separation of the larger ships. The captain was gregarious and accessible. He sat with our group on two occasions where we discussed the Norwegians of America (I am one), and the Norwegian independence day celebration that we have in Wisconsin every year on Syttende Mai. The chief cook even found the time to make me some lefse, since I had no means to do so this year myself. I thought the food was well prepared and diverse. The buffet style used for most meals was good for the type of trip this was, and allowed excellent choices. The Phillipino staff was attentive and friendly. I liked the softer service mode (less white coat and glove of the large ships, and more of the delivery when needed approach). The staff could have used about two more servers on some occasions, but it was not a significant issue. The price of wine and drinks was a little high. It is in Norway too. I guess that's why I have relatives that make their own in Norway. In Norway its because of the taxes, I would have thought that Norwegian tax would not be imposed at sea, just as it is not on US ships. The shore trips were well conducted and monitored. The speakers were well prepared and worked well with the passengers both in sessions and on the shore individually. We will be looking at the Norway cruise in the future. I have my 7 continents, but I need to get my wife a couple more before we start revisiting places. The Norwegian tour I would be most interested in would feature the Aurora spectacle. Once again, a good, well run tour to a great destination. - Richard A. Swingen, U.S.
