2-4:
Reykjavik/Embarkation
Arrive in Reykjavik where you will spend two nights before beginning your Greenland & Iceland cruise. Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital city and home to 117,000 people. Here, you will be amazed by the glaciers, waterfalls, geysers and mountains that surround you. Dine, shop and explore Reykjavik with its vast selection of eateries, museums and stores. From the airport you transfer directly to the MS Fram which is docked at the old harbor of Reykjavik, Midbakki. [B]

5: Grundarfjordur
Grundarfjordur is the capital of the West fjords region of Iceland. Grundarfjordur lies close to the scenic Snafellsnes Peninsula and Snafellsjokull glacier. Two optional shore excursions are available or you can explore fantastic Grundarfjordur on your own. [B/L/D]

6-7: At sea
While we are at sea, a series of lectures will be held on board. Enjoy a number of educational presentations as you set your sights on the amazing Greenland travel yet to come. [B/L/D]

Igaliko
The Greenland portion of your Greenland & Iceland cruise begins in Igaliko, a settlement in the ancient sea of Gardar. From the slopes above it, people enjoy the most beautiful and peaceful panorama of the country. The name Igaliko means "The Abandoned Fireplace." The Norwegian Anders Olsen started farming at Gardar in 1780 and dedicated the place to St. Nicolas, the protector of seafaring people. [B/L/D]

9: Qaqortoq
Founded in 1775, Qaqortoq has a town square with Greenland's oldest fountain and some of the most well-preserved buildings from the country's colonial era. [B/L/D]

10: Qassiarsuk
In Qassiarsuk, take a guided walk through the settlement. View its reconstructed farm, longhouse, and church of Viking explorer Erik the Red, who settled here in 982. [B/L/D]

11: Narsaq
Your Greenland travel continues in Narsaq. Centrally located in a huge complex of fjords rich in seals, salmon, trout, and Minke whales, Narsaq is a good place to begin your tour of southern Greenland. [B/L/D]

12: Ivittuut
An old mining village, Ivittuut is inhabited only part of the year. In summertime, some old houses are used for tourism. [B/L/D]

13: Nuuk
Home to 15,000 people, capital city Nuuk-Greenlandic for "peninsula"-lies at the mouth of one of the world's largest fjord systems. See the old buildings in "Kolonihaven," the Greenland Home Rule building, and the Greenland National Museum, which houses eight 15th century mummies found in Qilakitsoq. [B/L/D]

14: Sisimiut
After docking in Sisimiut, Greenland's second-largest town, we will enjoy a kayak show demonstrating old hunting techniques alongside the ship. Excursions in Sisimiut, apart from the boat trip, require reasonably good physical condition. Our visit will focus on the old part of the town and the harbor. [B/L/D]

15: Eqip Sermia
Experience the formidable Eqip Sermia glacier up close. Go ashore by tender boat for glacier views and a BBQ dinner. Passengers in good shape can hike in the area. [B/L/D]

16: Ilulissat
Third-largest town in Greenland, Ilulissat-Greenlandic for "icebergs"-lies on Ilulissat Isfjord, added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2004. Enormous icebergs run aground just outside of town. [B/L/D]

17: Evighedsfjorden
We sail into this beautiful fjord, surrounded by majestic mountains and glaciers. If conditions permit, we go for a PolarCirkel cruise along the glacier front at a safe distance or land ashore for a short hike. [B/L/D]

Kangerlussuaq-Copenhagen
Arrive in
Sisimiut, the second largest town in Greenland. Whether you
partake in the city walk or one of the optional excursions,
you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of the town, sea and
mountains. [B/L/D]
DAY 16:
EQIP SERMIA
See the
glacier Eqip Sermia. Weather permitting, you can take the
PolarCirkel ashore and join in on a BBQ dinner with a terrific
view over the glacier. [B/L/D]
DAY 17:
ILULISSAT
Enormous
icebergs run aground here at the mouth of the fjord, originating
from the Jakobshavn Glacier, the most productive glacier in the
world. [B/L/D]
DAY 18:
Kangerlussuaq-Copenhagen
Kangerlussuaq is the main gateway to Greenland. The airport was built by the U.S. during World War II. From here, you will board your charter flight to Copenhagen. [L]
Day 19: Copenhagen - Return to
India
Arrive in Copenhagen, transfer to your flight to
India.
