POLAR HISTORY WALK
Tromsø is not just the largest town in northern Norway; it’s also a town
brimming with history. First, our guide will take us to the Polar
Museum. On the way there we’ll pass the statue of Roald Amundsen, the
hunting monument and the market square, where you can enjoy a wonderful
view of the Arctic Cathedral.
Discover a town brimming with history
The Polar Museum features exhibits from Norway’s proud polar history. We
will also see a film of the polar region made by the Arctic hunters.
The tour continues to the Beer Hall (Ølhallen), Tromsø’s oldest pub,
which was a popular meeting place for fishermen, hunters and polar
explorers. Here, you can taste beer from the world’s northernmost
brewery, Mack, whilst one of the locals tells stories about the old
days.
