DAY 1 - DEPART India
(airfare not included)
Depart from India on your overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina

2: Buenos Aires
You will arrive in Buenos Aires in the morning. You will transfer to your hotel, where you will have the rest of the day to explore on your own. [B/D]

3: Buenos Aires-Embarkation
After breakfast you will transfer to the MS Fram. A Falkland Island orientation will take place on board. [B/D]

4-6: At Sea
During the sail to the Falkland Islands, you will enjoy lectures about this archipelago of 700 islands. It's an ecosystem that supports an astounding array of sub-Antarctic species. [B/L/D]

7 -8: Falkland Islands /Malvinas
The ship will call at Stanley, the capital of the Falklands. Explore on your own, or take a guided tour. Optional excursions include:
Sounders Island - Features miles of spectacular colonies of Black-browed albatross and Rock Hopper penguins.
West Point Island- -Known for its wildlife, Fur seals, and sea lions-boasts the highest sea cliffs in the archipelago.

9-10 At Sea
While at sea, you'll be offered on-board lectures about South Georgia. [B/L/D]

11-12: South Georgia
Disembark at abandoned whaling station Grytviken. Wander through the town and visit the South Georgia Museum. At the cemetery, you are likely to spy young Elephant seal pups, King and Gentoo penguins, and timid Pintail ducks. You'll also visit Cooper Bay, known for its Macaroni and Chinstrap penguins. 13-14: At Sea
During these days you'll enjoy edifying talks about your next, much
anticipated destination-Antarctica. [B/L/D]

15-18: Antarctica
The ship will negotiate the narrow passage between Booth Island and the
Antarctica Peninsula.
You'll
board PolarCirkel boats and - depending upon the weather- make a number of
landings:
·
Half Moon Island,
with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, famous for its large
chinstrap penguin rookery, kelp gulls, and Antarctic terns. Whale spotting
is also common here.
·
Whaler's Bay, on Deception Island, with its
warm springs and black volcanic sand.
·
Half Moon Island,
a crescent-shaped collection of islets sharing a sweep of shingle beach,
is a rookery for chinstrap penguins, and home to kelp gulls, terns, skuas
and sheathbills.
·
Yankee Harbor,
home to a variety of seals and an estimated 4,000 gentoo penguin pairs. It
is a common feeding area for whales as well.
·
Almirante Brown, in Paradise Harbor,
has glorious scenery of snowy peaks, ice cliffs and sculpted bergs.
·
Port Lockroy is one of the top tourist
sites in Antarctica, as well as an important British base, where postcards
postmarked "Antarctica" can be purchased.
·
Neko Harbor's
water has a fine mirror finish, flecked with bits of berg. There is an icy
hush to the place, broken only by honking penguins and the rumble of
glaciers calving into the sea.
·
Petermann Island
boasts the largest known colony of gentoo penguins in the Antarctica
Peninsula.
·
Cuverville Island
boasts the largest known colony of gentoo penguin in the Antarctic
Peninsula.
·
Wilhelmina Bay
is a feeding ground for whales and seals.
·
Antarctic Sound,
where huge mile-long tabular icebergs can be seen. The sound is also home
to an estimated half million Adelie penguins as well as gentoo penguins,
leopard seals and killer whales.
·
Brown Bluff, on the coast of the
Antarctic Sound at the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula. Adelie penguins,
gentoo penguins, kelp gulls and Cape petrels can be found here, and
Weddell seals are regular visitors.

18-19: Drake
Passage
Your ship will pass Cape Horn, the southernmost point in South America. During your passage a number of lectures regarding Cape Horn and Antarctica will be held. [B/L/D]

20: Ushuaia-Disembarkation-Buenos Aires
You'll disembark at Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city. Transfer to your flight to Buenos Aires. Choose from a number of optional excursions. [B]

21: Buenos Aires-Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home [B]
