This voyage from Spitsbergen in the
Svalbard archipelago on MS Fram, navigates northbound from
Longyearbyen to the remote Moffen Island, visiting fjords, glaciers
and Arctic settlements. Svalbard is rich in wildlife and dramatic
scenery. Watch in awe as you sail through the bays and channels of
this starkly beautiful outreach of northern Europe. Look out for
arctic fox, reindeer, seal and walrus plus there is an excellent
chance of spotting whales, as well as the solitary overlord of these
Arctic regions, the polar bear.

Wednesday (day 1)

2)
07.00 Breakfast is served until 10.00. Check-out time.
13.00 Lunch in Funktionærmessen Restaurant at Spitsbergen Hotel.
14.00 Sightseeing in Longyearbyen, visit at the Svalbard Museum
and Galleri Svalbard, ends at the pier.
17.00 Embarkation MS Fram.
18.00 Sailing time from Longyearbyen.
21.00 Arrival time Barentsburg. Sightseeing. Individual visits
at the Pomor museum (NOK 40,- pr. person).
22.00 Folklore show at the Cultural house (tickets included).
23.00 Time to look around, and for souvenir-shopping (cash only, in
NOK, Euro and USD). Return to the ship by walking the stairs down to
the harbour.
23.30 Sailing time from Barentsburg.
At night time we sail out of Isfjorden, then along the coast of Prins
Karls Forland passing Kongsfjorden heading north.
Friday (day 3)
At night/early morning we pass the seven glaciers named Sjubre-flaket,
before reaching Spitsbergen's northwest corner. Arrival in
Magdalenefjorden in the morning.
In the afternoon we cruise further north along the north west coast of
Spitsbergen making landings at interesting sites.
Saturday (day 4)
Depending on the weather- and ice-conditions we sail to the Woodfjord
area. In Liefdefjorden we can see the astonishing front of the Monaco
glacier. Tender boat landing in the afternoon.
When having good ice-conditions we cross the 80° parallel and sail up
to the Moffen Island.
Cruising southbound at night.
Sunday (day 5)
10.00 Arrival time Ny-Ålesund. Guided walk in town, with information
about the history of coalmining and exploration. Individual time,
museum visit and souvenir shopping (credit cards accepted).
12.00 Sailing time from Ny-Ålesund.
In the afternoon we continue southbound along the coast of Prins Karls
Forland and return to Isfjorden.
Monday (day 6)
02.00 Approximately arrival time in Longyearbyen. Disembarkation.
Direct transfer from the pier to the airport included. Please check
correct pick-up time from your guide or via information board onboard
the ship.
04.05 SK4493/SK4407 to Oslo, via Tromsø (arr. Tromsø 05:40, dep.
06:50), arrival Oslo 08:45.
04.50 SK4497 to Oslo, direct flight, arrival 07.45.
07.00 Latest embarkation from the ship for late departures or those
with additional nights. No breakfast included. Transfer from harbour
to Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen where it is possible to buy
breakfast (NOK 85,- per person) and leave the luggage.
14.45 SK4425 to Oslo, via Tromsø (arr. 16.20, dep. 17.10), arrival
19.00, airport shuttle NOK 50,- pr. person.
